Mr. OUMAROU SIDIBE Mahamadou is a graduate of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis of France. He holds a Post-University Specialized Diploma in safety and security of ionizing radiation sources (National Nuclear Research Center of Algiers) and, currently, Doctoral student in physics at the Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey (Republic of Niger) .
Mr. OUMAROU SIDIBE has more than ten years of practical experience in the field of regulation of activities and practices involving the use of ionizing radiation sources. These experiences were largely developed at the National Radiation Protection Center of Niger where he worked as head of the Environmental Radiological Monitoring Program. He participated in several mine inspection missions, in particular those of uranium. He also served as head of the legislation and regulation department at the Nigerien High Authority for Atomic Energy (HANEA). In addition, he is the head of the “Nuclear Safety and Security and Radiation Protection” working group of the Regulatory Framework subcommittee within the Nuclear Energy Programme Implementing Organization (NEPIO). In this capacity, he is participating in the pre-feasibility study project for Niger's Nuclear Power Program and has thus led self-assessment activities in the areas of Nuclear Safety and Security and Radiation Protection.
